A person who is an adult can be described as a human or other animal that is at full growth.The biological meaning of the term refers to animals that have reached sexual maturity, which makes it capable of reproducing. Within the human realm, adult refers to social and legal concepts. Contrary to those who are who is not considered to be an adult or "minor" an legal adult is a person who has reached the age of majority which makes them independent competent, responsible, and capable. The term "major" is a term used to describe these individuals. It is generally accepted that the threshold at which an individual can legally become an adult is 18. It is possible for this to differ based on the legal rights and the country of origin as well as the development of the individual's psychological.

Adulthood refers to the time in the life of an individual in which full physical and intellectual maturity has occurred. It usually starts with the age of 21. In general, middle age starts at 40 or so years old. It is and is followed by around 60. There are three main phases of adulthood: early adults (18 to mid-30s), middle adulthood (mid-30s until mid-60s), and the final stage of adulthood (mid-60s until end of life). It is the time of physical maturation that we are at when we attain the age of 20 to 40 years old. Our height and weight can, however, slightly grow. Physical capabilities peak when we are young adults. This includes muscle strength and reflex speed, as well as sensors, and the heart's function.
